Pastor Wendell Jones is the Senior Pastor of Changing Your Mind Ministries (CYM), where he is committed to helping people grow spiritually, strengthen their families, and discover God’s purpose for their lives. Through practical, Bible-centered teaching, he challenges believers to move beyond inspiration and embrace genuine transformation that impacts every area of life.
In addition to his pastoral leadership, Pastor Jones serves as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 25 in Greenville County. He is also the founder and CEO of the Wendell Jones Leadership Institute (WJLI), where he works with entrepreneurs, nonprofits, chambers of commerce, financial institutions, and community leaders to build stronger organizations, expand economic opportunity, and develop sustainable solutions to community challenges. His professional background includes more than a decade in banking, business development, entrepreneurship, and public service.
Pastor Jones is passionate about faith, leadership, economic empowerment, and community transformation. Whether serving in the church, the State House, or the business community, his mission remains the same: helping people and communities reach their God-given potential through faith, service, and purposeful action.
He is married to Dr. Crystal (Cris) Johnson Jones, a practicing OB/GYN who shares his commitment to serving others and strengthening communities. Together, they are dedicated to building a legacy of faith, leadership, and service. Pastor Jones is also the proud father of three children: Aaliyah, Wendell II, and Benjamin.
Elder Jermaine Smith is the Assistant Pastor at Changing Your Mind Ministries (CYM), where he supports both the church members and the community in their spiritual growth. He focuses on practical teaching from the Word of God, encouraging individuals to engage with Scripture and apply its principles. Elder Smith is committed to ensuring that all ministries at CYM work together to fulfill the church’s vision.
Beyond his pastoral (executive) duties, Elder Smith is active in community service. He has served on the Zoning Board in Simpsonville, SC, as both a member and Chairman, and also ran for City Council in Simpsonville, along with being involved in various local initiatives. He has also supported and worked state campaigns for Senior Pastor (Representative) Wendell Jones in District 25 and has excelled in his role as a corporate trainer at Michelin North America Headquarters.
Elder Smith partners with his wife, Shere Smith, the youth director of CYM, in their dedication to CYM’s youth and the surrounding community. His primary goal is to encourage, teach, and guide individuals toward a deeper relationship with God and the fulfillment of His purpose for their lives.
